'Vegvísir' is out today!
My first published short story goes live.
My debut short story Vegvísir (Wayfinder) in Clarkesworld Magazine is out today! And you can read it for free!
Vegvísir just dropped on the Clarkesworld website! Go and read it, or if you prefer, listen to it. I'm really, really excited to have this story out in the world and I can't wait to see what people think of it. It's the first short story I'd tried submitting in 15+ years and I'm just so lucky to have been picked up by such a brilliant magazine.
Look at that cover! Just look at it. The cover artist is Douglas P. Lobo - check out his Artstation profile for more amazing art. This particular piece is based on the Phillip K. Dick novella The Variable Man.
I am so stoked at the company I have on this cover too - I can't wait to read stories from multi-published authors like Aimee Ogden, Rich Larson, Wang Yuan, Meghan Feldman, E.N. Diaz and Amal Singh. I think I might be the only debut in the issue, which is a bit scary but also kind of awesome.
I really hope you enjoy reading it. There is also an audio version in the works (I'm currently assembling a narrator pronunciation guide for the Icelandic words in the story), which I'll post about when it's released. (Update: here it is!)
The story is free to read, but you can also buy Kindle, ePub and PDF versions, or sign up for a subscription from $3. It’s amazing value, give it a shot. There’s also a sweet Discord server you can join if you take out the direct subscription.
In the meantime, if you have any comments or thoughts on the story, give me a shout on Twitter.
