Another good start to the day and another day of sunshine in Scotland.

A customer review from Martin P.

I hear it's very, very hot down south, but it's my ideal weather here at the moment - sunny and clear but temperatures hovering between 16-20°C with a light breeze. Pleasantly warm but not hot. Love it. And it's great coming back from my morning walk not sweaty.

ON DECK: Another 728 words on Ridealong this morning. It's slow going though. I think it's mostly just that it's been a while since I've drafted? So I'm having trouble getting momentum on it. I'm also taking a look at my deadlines and schedules and thinking of doing a little project juggle. More at the end of the post.

Oh, my July newsletter comes out at 12 today! Subscribe here.

LISTENING: It's not Sunday, but that didn't stop me listening to the Lo-Fi Sunday playlist this morning.

WATCHING: Catching up a bit on HOUSE OF THE DRAGON last night. This season is a lot better than the first one. I'm enjoying it.

READING: I left my current book downstairs by accident last night and couldn't be bothered going down to get it, so I cracked open SPOOK STREET by Mick Herron (I'm running just ahead of the TV show) and it's very good. He is really, really superb at opening vignettes.

UP NEXT: I'm eyeing up the next 6-8 weeks and, factoring in WorldCon (schedule comes out today!) and a holiday, I've realised I have about two weeks less to do some stuff to deadline than I thought. So, I'm going to park Ridealong at about 6,000 words written and switch tracks to pick up the reworking of PROJECT SCARLET - I'm rewriting the outline from scratch (this is usually way quicker to do for me than trying to rework an existing outline), writing a pitch and writing a sample, which I think will be around 10-15k words. I'm aiming to have that done for the end of August, or earlier if I can manage it. Then I can finish up Ridealong as a distraction project in the last couple of weeks before the book launch. Which is now forty three days away eeeeeeeeee I'm fine it's fine don't worry nothing to worry about here.
