More editing, and my first ALCS payment.

No walk today, since I had to start something else early, but a good writing session in any case.

This morning I also got my first ever payment from ALCS, which is an amazing organisation that collects and distributes licensing fees for usage of an author's work (things like photocopying, broadcast snippets and so on). It's not going to pay the mortgage or anything, but it was still very appreciated. If your books are published in the UK, you should register.

ON DECK: Good progress on the edit this morning with -696 words. Not quite at the end of Part 1, but I'm about three chapters away. I will breathe a sigh of relief as I hit each 5k waymarker in this cut. The next one will be 120k, then 115k, then 110k and so on. And I'm still not into the first draft material yet.

LISTENING: Loved this episode of Scriptnotes about how to deal with waiting in the creative fields.

WATCHING: Didn't quite have the energy for SEVERANCE last night, so we watched some WHEEL OF TIME instead and, uh, wow, I don't remember much from the first two seasons. Episode 1 was a lot of people shouting and throwing magic at one another and I was a bit lost, to be honest.

READING: A bit of STARTER VILLAIN from John Scalzi last night. Still no idea what's going on, but the setup is hilarious.

LINK: Loved this animation that Riverhead Books have done for DISSOLUTION.

UP NEXT: More editing tomorrow and Friday, DISSOLUTION launch tomorrow, then a day of appointments in town on Friday. Busy busy.

Onward!
