A nice start to the morning as I got to go for a very nice walk, and reveal my paperback cover for A RELUCTANT SPY. The former I do most days, but the latter I decided to wait until today, when it's less than 100 days until the paperback comes out.

ON DECK: A solid day, coming in about ten words over my minimum at 1,565 words. My actual minimum is significantly lower, since I'm about 11k ahead of my plan at the moment, but I still try to hit the starting minimum I calculated using Pacemaker at the start of the draft.

LISTENING: I very much enjoyed this episode with Josie Lloyd on 'The Conversation' with Nadine Matheson. Fascinating hearing how her career has changed over the years and the many twists and turns it's taken.

WATCHING: A bit of GLADIATORS to unwind while I did a bunch of writing admin last night. Still fantastic retro fun.

READING: One of the most visceral battle scenes I've ever read in Richard Swan's THE TYRANNY OF FAITH last night. The man's done his research. Swiftly followed by a whole heap more visceral happenings. Literally and figuratively. I am having a whale of a time with this book although the last quarter or so is unbearably tense.

LINK: Great discussion on PubTips about good podcasts focusing on traditional publishing. I dumped a big list of my own in there as well.

UP NEXT: Halfway through the week and my pace has slowed as I need to micro-outline my way to the finish. But I've got a good plan, plus a bunch of notes about things I need to address in the redraft, so I'm feeling good. 93k and holding steady.

Onward!
