Just a quick one today, since I didn't get out for a walk and I've got a longer newsletter/blog post coming out later this morning. But it was a decent morning for writing.

ON DECK: 1,586 words this morning and a fairly pivotal scene put to bed, which is cheering. Not as much as I'd have liked to have written, given the longer writing session, but it was research heavy - checking a bunch of specific geographical/location details to ensure everything made sense, which takes time. I'm not a [INSERT RESEARCH HERE] writer, though I sometimes wish I was when it slows me right down.

LISTENING: I enjoyed this episode of SFFAddicts with John Scalzi, even though John occupies a fairly rarefied position in the SFF world in terms of his 'normal' compared to the vast majority of other writers. It's clear he's very aware of that, and it's still fascinating to hear how his career works and what's driven it over the years.

WATCHING: Finished off ANDOR last night. Exceptional stuff. Next up is PARADISE, also on Disney+, which I've been advised to go into without knowing anything if possible. I know there's a big episode 1 twist, but that's about it.

READING: More of the SF beta read yesterday. It's got an extremely compelling hook and some excellent worldbuilding. Really enjoying it so far.

LINK: If you're not sure what London Book Fair is all about (which I posted about yesterday) then this podcast from Page One is a great starting point.

UP NEXT: Off to Glasgow this afternoon and tomorrow, though I'll hopefully get a bit of writing done tomorrow, then back on the regular schedule on Friday.

Onward!
