Up late last night finishing my monthly newsletter, since I'm going to be very busy today and tomorrow, so no walk this morning, just timelining.

ON DECK: The above image is an accurate summary of the interior of my brain as I do the timelining, checking transport times, double checking timezones, working out how long scenes need to take and what's happening between the scenes, to make sure there's enough time for everything to happen, as well as no huge weird gaps.

Thankfully, so far, it is mostly lining up. I had a horrible moment when I realised a key transport scene may not actually have matched up with the (limited) real world timetable and I'd need to knock out my entire timeline by a couple of days and then re-check everything, but when I actually checked it was fine. I suspect I checked at the time when I was writing it and just forgot, but it's still a relief.

Like I said, this is boring, annoying, but very necessary work. I've got four out of five parts of the book done, so I think I'll finish it tomorrow.

LISTENING: I greatly enjoyed this episode of The Rest Is Classified about the anarchic and slightly ludicrous world of semi-outsourced Russian/Bulgarian spies recently uncovered here in the UK. Weirdly hilarious.

WATCHING: Another episode of ANDOR last night, and a great one. I did laugh a bit at DJ Roomba rocking up to the Chandrilan wedding though. And apparently that track is original to the series. Might put it on later while I'm working.

READING: More INNOCENT GUILT yesterday, and the twists keep coming. I have no idea where this book is going.

LINK: A great resource list from Jordan Acosta on free images you can use for your blog or newsletter.

UP NEXT: One more day of timelining I think, then hopefully I can get back to actually editing. Looking forward to that.

The weather is also looking up here in Scotland, which is nice. Hopefully I'll get outside for a walk tomorrow morning in the sunshine.

And not-quite-final reminder that I'm speaking to Chris Whitaker at Waterstones Edinburgh West End tomorrow at 7pm!

Onward!
