Daynote - Tue 22 Oct
So close I can taste it.
Stayed up too late editing yesterday, which had the positive effect of getting me closer to the finish line, but the negative effect of meaning I slept in and didn't get as much done this morning as I'd like, or get out for a walk. Annoying.
ON DECK: 160 aggregate new words this morning. My late night of editing also meant I had time this morning to look at a fresh set of critique partner suggestions that landed overnight (I have several crit partners who live in the US), so I decided to use the limited time this morning to address those. But the knock-on effect is I've not quite finished the full line edit. One of those annoying mornings when I was just getting into it and could have done with another hour, but my biological need for sleep meant I didn't have that time. Very frustrating.
LISTENING: I found this episode of the excellent 'Behind the Lines' podcast about digital warfare absolutely fascinating. It's a great podcast anyway, with some brilliant and insightful guests, but I thought this panel show with several experts was particularly good.
WATCHING: We discovered that WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS has season four on iPlayer, so we watched an absurd number of those. Sometimes I love a half-hour show, you can watch most of a season in one night.
READING: Went to bed too late to read. Sigh. I really shouldn't edit at night.
UP NEXT: I'm going to bed on time and then I'm getting up on time tomorrow and I'm going to finish this edit. Rapidly approaching 'sick of the sight of it' stage which is usually a sign to put the last spit and polish on it and get it out of the door before I start doing damage to it.
