Sunny spring feels.

A lovely, spring-ish morning today. I say spring-ish because it was still cool enough when I left for my walk to wear gloves, but by the time I was walking back up from the beach I'd stripped my jacket off and it was genuinely quite warm. Absolutely loads of birds singing in the woods too. A little warmth is very welcome.

ON DECK: A very fun scene today, which was a breeze to write and is getting me very excited for the quickfire round of short scenes I'm about to work on. That got me to 1,829 words for the day. I am absolutely champing at the bit to finish this draft.

LISTENING: Really enjoying the new 'Drafting Notes' spinoff podcast that the Page One lads are doing now - just quick 20-30 minute chats between Marco and Tariq on publishing and writing topics. The latest one is about do's and don'ts of self-promotion, and my Canva video efforts last summer get a wee mention.

WATCHING: I was visiting family last night, so no telly, but I did enjoy this video yesterday about 'The Long Tomorrow', a comic book collaboration between Dan O' Bannon (best known for writing the screenplay for ALIEN) and the French artist Moebius.

Rumour has it that much of the look and feel was the inspiration for BLADE RUNNER, and this video is an excellent look at it. I'd love to find a copy that wasn't £150+, seems like this would be ripe for a paperback graphic novel reprint.

READING: More of GOGMAGOG yesterday and somehow it's managed to get even stranger. What a gloriously weird book.

LINK: Chuffed that Tapbots, who made the excellent Tweetbot client and the equally good Ivory client for Mastodon, are now making one for Bluesky called Phoenix.

UP NEXT: Full steam ahead on PROJECT SCARLET, a whole bunch of mostly short scenes to write and a birthday lunch for a friend to look forward to at the weekend. Smashing.

Onward!
