Daynote - Fri 4 Apr
I could get used to this sunshine business.
The run of good weather continues, with blossom on our trees in the garden and morning mists from the Forth. It's really very pretty. Skipped my walk this morning because I got up too late, but I did have a nice deep inhale of cool air in the back garden.
ON DECK: A decent -636 words this morning, over three scenes. On target, but a little slow, due to cutting lots of little bits of fiddly dialogue as various characters set up for an action set piece. But good overall progress.
LISTENING: Loved this episode of Page One with fellow DHH client Frances White, author of VOYAGE OF THE DAMNED.
WATCHING: We watched the first episode of ZERO DAY on Netflix last night. Some fairly on-the-nose dialogue, but an intriguing setup and a couple of good speeches from De Niro.
READING: More of PROJECT SCARLET yesterday, trying to get through the draft faster than I'm editing it and currently failing.
LINK: Kate McKean has a good primer on common publishing terms. Some of these are US-specific, but it's an excellent overview.
UP NEXT: A weekend at home, then next week - surprise! - more editing. But I do have Tariq Ashkanani's launch for THE MIDNIGHT KING and a book club visit next week, both of which I'm really looking forward to.
