Available now!

It's audiobook release day for A RELUCTANT SPY! The graphic above is from Audible, but it's also available on a range of other services, including Kobo, Libro.fm and Google Play.

The book is narrated by Norman Bowman who has done a cracking job. It's still incredibly weird to hear my novel read by someone, but I'm very glad that we chose Norman for this. He's really brought the characters and the settings to life. I know a lot of people have pre-ordered the audiobook, so if you're one of them I hope you really enjoy it!

ON DECK: A very slow writing morning today - I did a bit of editing and realised I had no idea how the next half dozen chapters should be ordered or structured, so I stopped and did a bit of more detailed outlining, then managed the very beginning of a scene. 122 words in total. As I'll never tire of pointing out though, that's 122 words I didn't have yesterday and I've now got a detailed outline for the next three or four days of writing. Sometimes you have to lay some groundwork, but it's all writing, even if the word counts are sometimes somewhat diminuitive.

LISTENING: Some drone-y ambient music this morning courtesy of the Hypnagogue Podcast.

WATCHING: A couple of randomly-added, very late episodes of BOB'S BURGERS on Disney (never less than superb), then the second half of last week's RINGS OF POWER (last week I was too tired to make it to the end of the episode). I enjoyed the Ents showing up.

READING: I'm in the final quarter of NINTH LIFE and it's still absolutely superb. Seriously, if you haven't read the FACTUS series, get the first one so you can watch them build up to this one.

UP NEXT: Back in the routine, back to regular writing. It's really nice. Making forward progress on new things feels great, after so long working towards the book launch.

And it is lovely to be back to regular walking in the mornings too. I saw seven or eight deer in the fields today, and the leaves are beginning to turn quite rapidly in the woods. Winter is on the air, but not quite here yet.
