Best Practices is an Anlab finalist!
And you can now read it online!

This morning I woke up to an email from Emily Hockaday, the Senior Managing Editor of Analog Science Fiction and Fact, letting me know that I'm a finalist for the 2024 'AnLab' (Analytical Laboratory) reader poll for my novelette 'Best Practices for Safe Asteroid Handling'.
I'm really honoured that my story was enjoyed by Analog readers and doubly so that it was nominated for AnLab.
'Best Practices for Safe Asteroid Handling' tells the story of an asteroid miner living in a post-capitalist group mind collective in deep space, who must deal with a mysterious incomer who seems extremely determined to kill him. And there are a lot of ways to die in space.
Very kindly, Analog make all of the finalist stories available on their website, so if you missed this story when it came out in the magazine, you can read it online now.
If you're nominating or voting in any awards this year, I'd love to have your consideration for this story and the rest of my eligible short fiction. You can see everything I've published on my short fiction page, most of which can be read online.
